About Us

Balaji Higher Education and Rural Development Society (BHERD Society), established in 2008, is a committed organization dedicated to advancing inclusive and sustainable development across rural and underserved communities. With a strong foundation in education and social empowerment, the Society actively works across key sectors including education, girls’ education, skill development, healthcare awareness, and agriculture.

Over the years, BHERD Society has consistently focused on creating meaningful and measurable impact by empowering individuals with knowledge, skills, and opportunities that enable them to lead dignified, self-reliant, and progressive lives. The organization firmly believes that true and lasting development can only be achieved when communities are equipped with the right resources, awareness, and capabilities to grow independently and sustainably.

Strengthening its commitment towards skill development and employability, BHERD Society has been actively collaborating with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and various Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) to deliver industry-relevant training programs aligned with national standards. Through these partnerships, the organization ensures that youth, especially from rural backgrounds, are equipped with practical skills that enhance their employability and entrepreneurial potential.

In addition, the Society is actively involved in the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects, working closely with corporate partners to design and execute initiatives focused on community upliftment. These projects aim to address critical needs such as education access, women empowerment, livelihood generation, health awareness, and sustainable agriculture practices.

Driven by a people-centric approach, BHERD Society continues to expand its outreach and impact by fostering partnerships, adopting innovative development models, and ensuring that every initiative contributes towards building a more equitable, skilled, and empowered society.

Mrs. Ratan Devi Sharma, President of Balaji Higher Education and Rural Development Society (BHERD Society), is a highly experienced and dedicated professional with over 30 years of extensive work in the education sector. She has made significant contributions, particularly in the areas of ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) and girls’ education, where her efforts have helped promote inclusive learning and empowerment at the grassroots level.

In addition to her work in traditional education, Mrs. Sharma has also actively contributed to the skill development sector, supporting initiatives that enhance employability and livelihood opportunities for youth. Her vision, leadership, and commitment continue to guide BHERD Society in its mission to create meaningful and sustainable impact in the field of education and rural development.

Her continued dedication to social progress and community welfare has inspired many individuals to participate in developmental initiatives.
